Sociolinguistics is an elective within the Language - Culture knowledge group, designed to equip students with knowledge about the characteristics, purposes, and roles of Sociolinguistics as a linguistic science. Additionally, this course provides specialized knowledge on topics such as language variation, the relationship between language and gender, language and age, and language and media; as well as the linguistic features according to gender and age. Moreover, students will develop skills in presenting, comparing, and analyzing the characteristics of language variations, linguistic features according to gender and age, and the narrative and storytelling techniques used by writers in English.
