Reading 2 is the second course of four Reading courses to develop reading comprehension skills for second-year English majors at Tay Nguyen University.

The course provides students with knowledge about language and practices reading comprehension skills at an upper-intermediate level. In this course, students will access longer readings and more difficult vocabulary levels with topics related to different areas of cultural, scientific and social life such as: Education, Urban life, Business and currency, Lifestyle of some countries around the world, Global connection. Students will practice to strengthen and develop their reading comprehension ability in English through sub-skills such as: Skimming for main idea and recognizing reading structures, Reading to find detailed ideas of the text (Scanning for details of a paragraph or a passage), Guessing the meaning of new words based on the context of the reading (Guessing word meanings from contexts), Summarizing the content of the reading (Summary) , Discussion and presentation of opinions (Discussions and presentations), Evaluation (Assessment). At the same time, students also develop new reading comprehension skills such as: Distinguishing subjective and objective ideas, recognizing the author's implications (inference).
