Welcome to Interpreting Practice 1 a 2-credit course designed for English majors at Tay Nguyen University. This course provides foundational training in English–Vietnamese and Vietnamese–English interpreting, focusing on practical communicative contexts such as education, tourism, and public service.

Students will be introduced to essential interpreting techniques, with a strong emphasis on consecutive interpreting without notes and whispered interpreting (chuchotage). Through structured practice, role-plays, and exposure to diverse topics and accents, students will develop critical skills such as active listening, short-term memory retention, reformulation, and clear delivery. The course also enhances students’ confidence in public speaking and introduces key ethical and professional standards for interpreters.
