The Etymology course is an elective course in the group of graduation courses in the field of knowledge, designed for students majoring in English language. This course provides students with comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of concepts, history of English vocabulary, their origins, and changes over time in terms of form and meaning. It also provides analytical skills to accurately grasp the meaning of each unit of English language. Especially, students will study the influence of the origins, formation of a large part of English vocabulary, idioms, and phrases on their form and meaning, thereby increasing knowledge of culture, history, and language.
